You Can Log Out Any Time You Like. . . With Vodafone

Talking Balls Comments
Vodafone - Partial Sponsorship Coverage?
As of yesterday, Thursday, the GAA has launched its bright shiny new website.

Due to go live last summer, the Talking Balls team has been waiting with breath bated to see just what Croker will come up with.

And we have to say that the new site has plenty for everyone, there’s links galore to plenty of resources and information, footage, information and news. And for Social Media geek types out there who want the universe to hang on their every post, and click on their every link there are opportunities to Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Bebo and whatever else you like to get up to in the privacy of your own bedroom. Some fairly compulsive viewing on there and as all of us fanatics know with the GAA, you can log out any time you like, but you can never leave.

To mark the auspicious occasion and to ensure that two lucky people out there can log in any time to www.gaa.ie, we are giving away two limited edition blue 3G Vodafone broadband modem yokes that come with one month free internet access, and normally cost about €40. They may look a bit like DIY pregnancy testing kits, but we have been told that they shouldn’t be urinated upon or inserted anywhere other than the USB port on your laptop.

Given that the GAA is a 32 county organisation and rightly so, we were intrigued to see that Vodafone has taken it upon itself a partitionist view of the country.

Yes indeed, if you observe carefully the map of the country reproduced above by kind permission of Vodafone, you can see that a large proportion of the country to the north of Monaghan and Cavan is coloured white. Our view is that this is because the purest form of football, white as the driven snow is played North of the partitionist border.

In order to win one of the two blue modems we are giving away (which incidentally don’t work in the white bit anyway), we want you to tell us in less than thirty words why you think Vodafone has coloured most of the Province of Ulster white in this map.

After that it’s simple, the best two answers will win the prizes. Answers by email to joe@squareball.com.

Vodafone asked us to tell you that prepay mobile broadband modems are now half price when you buy online. Get surfing from just €19.99 with their great value prepay modem and enjoy internet access without any ties or monthly bills. Simply top up and pick a broadband add on that suits you.

If you want to visit the Vodafone online store, then off you go, but come back quickly!
