. . . ActionAid’s representatives have now contacted us to plug their efforts to get ‘mna na hÉireann’ to run for them in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon to raise money for schoolgirls in Uganda and give them access to clean, safe water.

Obviously we are concerned that Talking Balls is building a reputation as the thinking GAA women’s website of choice. Here in the office for example the debate is on whether to throw up a few more risque photographs just to annoy Lairdo or whether we continue with our new chix appeal. The Jury’s out.
Anyway, on behalf of ActionAid, we’re calling on ladies, women, girls, but especially camogs and ladies footballers to get out there and do your bit for Uganda. In fact in order to promote the cause even better we’ve asked ActionAid if they’ll consider hosting a Camogie Sevens tournament out there next year. We’ve still to hear back but if enough of you get out running, you never know!
