Down v Monaghan,
Pearse Park, 4.15pm, (K. Tighe)
(Live on TG4)

These two counties face each other for the second time in the Championship this season, Monaghan having defeated Down by seven points in the Ulster semi final. Down have opted for the same team that narrowly beat Donegal by an injury time point in the first round of the qualifiers, but Monghan are a very different prospect and Down may have to wait another year to reach their first ever All-Ireland quarter final.

DOWN: B Russell, A Keary, E Downey, N Lennon, K O’Neill, S Murphy, J Connell, K Trainor, F Carr, L Cunningham, L Morgan, O Fegan, C Laverty, M Downey, A Pyers

MONAGHAN: L Martin, Y McConnell, S Courtney, C Reilly, A McAnespie, F Courtney, L Connolly, A Casey, I Kierans, C McConnell, E Byrne, N Fahy, C McAnespie, N Kindlon, E Mc Carron

Laois v Mayo
Pearse Park, 6.00pm, (K. Delahunty)
(Live on TG4)

This battle will surely produce fireworks as neither of these pillars of ladies football will want to exit the Championship at this early stage after a disappointing start in provincial rounds. Laois have their first team line up on the starting field, including All Star Tracey Lawlor who is just back from a lengthy ankle injury sustained against Mayo in their National League semi final. Mayo won that tie after they drew with Laois in the fifth round of the league, but you can’t write off either of these teams in a Championship situation.

LAOIS: T Fallon, M McEvoy, L Muckian, M O’Grady, E McEvoy, A Quigley, A Casey, P Fogarty, A Moore, Martha Kirwan, A O’Loughlin, Mary Kirwan, M Dunne, T Lawlor, N Kirwan

MAYO: Y Byrne, N Tierney, N Hurst, C McGing, K Sullivan, M Carter, A Loftus, C Egan, S Hughes, L Cafferkey, E Mullin, N Beegan, F McHale, T McNicholas, C Staunton

Kerry v Meath
Nenagh, 7.00pm, (TBC)

Meath travel unchanged to Nenagh with a massive win over favourites Armagh under their belts, sending the Orchard County into a relegation battle. They will surely be ripe for more action after that six point victory while Kerry’s spirits were well and truly dampened in their horrendous Munster Final defeat at the hands of Cork. Meath could have the extra spring in their step to make it to the quarter finals this year.

KERRY: L Driscoll, C Buckley, SJ Joy, A Lyons, M Finnegan, N Scanlon, A Leonard, L Scanlon, B Breen, S Hoolihan, L Cronin, L Ni Mhuritaigh, D Murphy, M O’Donoghue, P Dennehy

MEATH: I Munnelly, C Coffey, L McKeever, M Kealy, A Murray, M Sheridan, Á Fagan, J Burke, S Bennett, G Doherty, G Nulty, K O’Brien, E Duffy, J Rispin, A Bennett

Kildare v Sligo
St. Brigid’s Kiltoom, 3.00pm, (D. Byrne)

Sligo are unchanged for this trip to Roscommon to face Kildare, who have their first outing since their heavy defeat at the hands of Dublin in the Leinster final. The loss followed a shock victory over Laois in the provincial semi final, with Aisling Jennings putting in a performance that earned her a Player of the Month Award. Sligo are coming in off the back of a solid nine point victory over neighbours Leitrim and may have the more competitive edge as a result.

KILDARE: T Martin, K Lowry, D Berry, J Cunningham , A Herbert, O’Shea, L Keatley, B Leahy, A Holton, N Earley, M Moolick, G Behan, A Jennings, C Dowling, D Gately

SLIGO: E Cullen, M Kane, A Doohan, E Flanagan, T O’Hara, R Goodwin, F Maye, B Byrne, S McTeirnan, S O’Sullivan, S O’ Reilly, K Maloney, J Mulligan, N Gormley, T Marren
