Pussycats Lift League Trophy
Talking BallsCats camogie captain Marie O’Connor was positively gushing as she lifted the League trophy following the Kilkenny camogs victory over Galway at Nowlan Park.
“I had my hands on the Cup at the Captains’ press conference in Dublin last week,” she said. “I was praying all week I’d have it again after Saturday’s final.
Praising her opponents Marie said: “Galway are such a tough and physical team. You always know you’re going to have a game on your hands against them but they’re skilful too, which made it even harder for us! However, the team went out there and gave it everything they had and more. They worked from the start to the finish, and it’a sign of a good team when you can do that.”
“The management team have been saying it to us all year that you must have the confidence to shoot, that you won’t get your head taken off for doing so. If you don’t shoot you won’t score. Aoife Neary was given half an inch yet managed to bang in that goal,” O’Connor said.
